Baytown City Manager Bob Leiper announced his intention to retire to City Council Thursday night during their Executive Session. Leiper, who has served as Baytown’s City Manager since 2011, and then advised staff that he will retire in early 2015, after agreeing with the City Council to assist with the transition.

THE CITY OF BAYTOWN ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 4.48 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $8.49.
