The popular program is the first Saturday of each month from 10-noon, with the exception of April. The program is free with regular admission.
All topics are family friendly and hands-on. Bring the family for a fun, educational morning; then stay to picnic, hike, fish or just relax…what a great way to spend a morning!
Birds are always a popular topic at the Baytown Nature Center. In fact, people come from all around the area to bird at one of the favorite sites on the Texas Coastal Birding Trail. The center’s monthly Nurture Nature Series on Saturday, December 2 takes advantage of this designation by offering a basic birding program from 10 am till noon. The workshop is free with admission to the nature center, located at 6213 Bayway Drive. Admission for adults and children over 12 is $4. Children 5-12 and seniors are $1.
Join BNC naturalist, Crissy Butcher as she shares her knowledge of birds that call the nature center home, either permanently or seasonally. Search for birds arriving for the winter season, including many types of water fowl. Be prepared to find several interesting and perhaps unusual species. Bring binoculars if you have them; otherwise, the nature center will furnish them for those who don’t. This is an excellent introduction to a lifelong pastime for all ages
