The division of a parcel of land into two or more parts is a subdivision and is regulated by the City of Baytown and the State of Texas.
Establishing a subdivision of a tract, establishing lots, or proposing to establish streets, squares, parks or other parts of the tract intended to be dedicated to public use or for the use of purchasers is a subdivision.
Procedure
Applications for the subdivision are Planning and Development Services Department by a Surveyor registered in the State of Texas. A property owner must hire a surveyor to prepare a subdivision plat. The platting procedure consists of an application, fee and a preliminary and final development plan of the entire development meeting the standards of Chapter 126 of the City of Baytown Code of Ordinances.
