The Board of Adjustment exercises the following powers:

1. Hear and decide appeals where it is alleged that there is an error in any order or decision by city officials in the administration and enforcement of chapter 130;
2. Hear and decide appeals of any interpretation of the text of chapter 130 made by the director of planning and community development;
3. Hear and decide requests for variances from the terms of chapter 130 pursuant to the procedures and standards set for therein; and
4. Hear and decide other matters as authorized by chapter 130.
