The Development Guide contains valuable information about code requirements and steps in the development process, as well as copies of relevant application forms. The purpose of the Development Guide is to:
- Provide an overview of the development process;
- Provide a shared understanding of the city’s standards for a high quality community; and
- Make schedules and expectations clear.
The development process is administered through the use of a Development Review Committee (DRC). The DRC is comprised of city employees as well as representatives from outside agencies that are involved in the development process. The DRC meets on Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. at the Community Center at 2407 Market Street in Baytown. After an application is submitted, a dedicated case manager is assigned that will walk the project through the development review process. Check the calendar to see when applications should be submitted and when they will be reviewed.
