Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Public Works Divisions, Streets and Drainage, Traffic, Equipment Services, and Solid Waste.
Attendance is an essential function of this position. The City reserves the right to require an employee in this position to work more than 40 hours a week. This position provides services or performs duties for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations. These may include services or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of your job. In the event of an evacuation, the incumbent in this position may be required to remain to perform needed services.
REQUIRED:
1. Bachelors’ degree or equivalent year’s education and experience in Business, Public Administration, or Engineering.
2. Five years experience in related field with three of those years in progressive management and supervisory responsibilities.
3. Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record.
4. Computer literate in Word and Excel.
PREFERRED:
1. Emergency Management experience in NIMS.
2. Experience in storm water regulations.
3. Five years related experience in the Public Works and Utilities fields with three years of those years in progressive management and supervisory responsibilities.
4. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with course work in public works maintenance, personnel management, civil engineering, public administration or a related field.
