Provides advice and recommendations to management for strategic direction of fiscal policy matters to maintain and enhance the financial health of the City. Provides direction and monitors the fiscal activities for Baytown Area Water Authority, Municipal Development District, Industrial District Agreement, and Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Boards. Serves as a trustee for City’s Risk Management fund and provides fiscal analysis and projections for trustees. Projects costs for compensation proposals including costs of Fire Union contract.
Attendance is an essential function of this position. The City reserves the right to require an employee in this position to work more than 40 hours a week. This position provides services or performs duties for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations. These may include services or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of your job. In the event of an evacuation, the incumbent in this position may be required to remain to perform needed services.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Ten years experience in a related field with five of those years in progressive management and supervisory responsibilities.
3. Word processing and spread sheet experience.
4. Clear criminal history background.
5. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED:
1. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting from an accredited college or university.
2. Certified Public Accountant.
