Job Summary and Principal Duties

 

Must be available evenings and weekends including Saturdays.

JOB SUMMARY AND PRINCIPAL DUTIES (4510L-35N) Performs para-professional tasks involving the application of standard library routines learned on the job.

Attendance is an essential function of this position. The City reserves the right to require an employee in this position to work overtime. This position provides services or performs duties for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations. These may include services or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of your job. In the event of an evacuation, the incumbent in this position may be required to remain to perform needed services.

When assigned to the Community Development Block Fund: This is a grant funded position.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, & EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

2. Six months related experience in library or other customer service environment.

3. Experience with Microsoft Office Applications.

4. Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record, if applicable.

PREFERRED:

1. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree

2. Experience with automated library systems

3. Bilingual, if applicable.
