MISSION STATEMENT
SERVICES PROVIDED
Operations Division personnel provide the following services: fire and life safety education, fire suppression, emergency medical services, homeland security preparation and response, hazardous materials responses, technical rescue services, water rescue services and a variety of other emergency and non-emergency services.

OPERATIONS
The Operations Division is headed by Assistant Fire Chief Victor Medrano. The responsibility of the Operations Division is to utilize the Department's human resources to deliver a wide variety of emergency and non-emergency services.
The Operations Division is comprised of 99 uniformed firefighters operating out of six (6) fire stations. The division provides fire protection and medical first responder service to over seventy thousand citizens with a service coverage area of over 36 square miles within the City of Baytown. The division also provides fire protection to the unincorporated areas of Harris County within the City's ETJ. The six (6) fire stations are equipped with five (5) pumper companies and one (1) ladder/Quint company. Additionally, the division operates two Special Operations Units; a Hazardous Materials Response Team, and a Technical Rescue Team, with both operations having their own specialized response apparatus and equipment.
Firefighting operations are carried out in three (3) shifts (24-hours on/48 hours off). The Operations Division is organized into six (6) fire districts, with a Battalion Chief in charge of all the fire districts. The six (6) fire districts have a minimum of 25 firefighters on duty each shift.
The six (6) companies operating in 2011 within the Operations Division were dispatched to 5,981 emergency responses.
