Five (5)

City Council

The Ethics Commission shall consist of five (5) members who will be appointed by the City Council from the membership of the Bay Area Ministerial Alliance.

Of the initial five (5) members appointed by the City Council, three (3) shall be appointed to serve two-year terms, and two (2) shall be appointed to serve three-year terms. Subsequent terms of these members shall be for three years. No member shall serve for more than five (5) consecutive years or be appointed for more than two full terms.

The Ethics Commission shall elect a chairperson, vice-chairperson, and secretary at the first meeting of each year.

When necessary

None

The Ethics Commission is advisory in nature and has the primary responsibility to investigate any apparent violations of the Ethics Ordinance and to recommend appropriate action to the City Council or the City Manager, as appropriate.
