The Baytown Municipal Court provides certified copies of birth certificates for any individual born in the State of Texas. The cost for a certified copy of a birth certificate is $22.00. Death certificates are available only for individuals who died in the city limits of Baytown. The first certified copy of a death certificate is $20.00 and each additional copy is $3.00 each.
In order to obtain a certified copy of a birth certificate, the person requesting the copy is required to fill out a form listing the individual’s name, date of birth, father’s name, and the mother’s maiden name. The form requesting a death certificate requires the individual’s name, date of death, parents’ name, and social security number. The person requesting either certificate must present a valid picture I.D. Once the form is complete and the information is accurate, the certificate is processed and the person receives it on the same day.
