MUNICIPAL COURT

Marshal's Office

The Baytown City Marshal's Office was open on March 15, 2004. The City Marshal's Office performs the law enforcement duties of the Municipal Court. These duties include arresting defendants in warrant status, transporting prisoners being held on Baytown Class C warrants, and serving summons and subpoenas issued by the Municipal Court. The City Marshals also provide security support for Court Operations. The City Marshals are duly licensed peace officers under State law and have full police powers throughout Harris County. Class C misdemeanor warrants issued by the Municipal Court are valid throughout the State.

If you have an active warrant issued by the Municipal Court, you need to come to the Court soon as possible. An attorney may represent you. You will NOT be arrested by the Marshals, on the Baytown Class C warrant if you come to the Court voluntarily. If you fail to dispose of your warrant, the City Marshals will actively pursue your arrest. Additionally, your warrant will be entered into the regional computer system, which will make you subject to arrest by any peace officer if you are stopped while driving.

Allowing a court case to go into warrant status substantially increases the amount of the fines and fees due.
