The Department consists of five divisions: Environmental Health, Storm Water Management, Neighborhood Protection, Emergency Medical Services, and Animal Services.
The Department is responsible for the public environmental health concerns of the City. Included programs are: food establishment permits and inspections, public swimming pool permits and inspections, vector control (mosquito control), environmental pollution complaints, storm water management programs, municipal drainage utility fee system, storm water construction compliance, neighborhood public nuisance complaints (high grass, weeds, illegal dumpsites and junk vehicles), public education and information opportunities and major scheduled clean up activities.
EMS is responsible for responding to calls for assistance in the event of injury or medical emergencies. This includes on scene stabilization and transport to proper medical facilities.

Our mission is to provide outstanding services in Environmental Health & Services and Emergency Medical Services in order to promote an appropriate level of assurance to the general public that the environment in which they live, work and play is both safe and healthy by the best use of human resources, technology, education and common sense.
