As chief legal advisor, I represent the City and BAWA in all litigation, administrative hearings, and other matters requiring legal representation. Additionally, I counsel the City Manager, department heads, and the City Council regarding legal matters.

My responsibilities include the following:

• Advising the City Council, BAWA, the City Manager and all City departments with regard to legal concerns and rendering legal opinions as needed;
• Drafting documents including petitions, contracts, deeds, resolutions, easements, and ordinances;
• Attending bimonthly meetings of the City Council and special meetings and training sessions as scheduled;
• Appearing in court to represent the City in litigation and assisting in the preparation of discovery and evidence for outside attorneys retained by the City;
• Prosecuting in the Municipal Court; and
• Developing and administrating the Legal Department's budget.
