Harris County and the City of Baytown announce the creation of a “temporary” Hurricane Ike transit route in Baytown.

Annual West Baytown Fall Clean-Up to be Held this Weekend

The annual West Baytown Fall Clean-Up is scheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2008, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The event is part of the City of Baytown Health Department’s Litter Abatement and Keep Baytown Beautiful programs.
City to Host Post-Ike Town Hall Meeting

A Post-Ike Town Hall Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will take place in the Community Center, located at 2407 Market Street.
Debris removal update
October 23, 2008 –
The City of Baytown’s contractors continue working in the city to remove storm related debris. To date, the contractors have picked up over 515,000 cubic yards of debris.

The City of Baytown and its contractor, Teamwork Construction, will be conducting hurricane-related repairs to a segment of the street and to the storm water system on the West Texas Avenue Bridge at Goose Creek.
National Night Out date changed for Texas residents to Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Amendments to Zoning Codes Considered

The Baytown City Council is taking steps to improve industrial land use in Baytown. During the next month, the Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission will be considering amendments to the industrial zoning codes and will also consider several areas in Baytown to be zoned for light industrial uses.

Capital murder suspect Morfin in custody
May 12, 2008 –
On Sunday evening May 11th, 2008 Pedro Luis Morfin turned himself in to the Harris County Jail located at 301 San Jacinto, Houston TX. Morfin is being held on one count of Capital Murder, No Bond, 230th District Court.
Baytown Health and EMS dept aquires additional equipment to treat sudden cardiac arrest

In an effort to increase our community’s odds of surviving sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), the City of Baytown has bought additional automated external defibrillators to place in city owned buildings. AED’s are used by first responders, such as police officers and firefighters, to treat victims of SCA.

City May Disconnect Water at Lakeview Apartments Due to Non-Payment of Utility Bills

The City may be forced to turn off the water to the Lakeview Apartments, 1200 Northwood, on September 25, due to non-payment of its utility bills. Currently, the Lakeview Apartments owes the City $61,902.53 in past due utility bills.
