Missing person Rodriguez located

May 20, 2009

UPDATE

Eusebio Rodriguez was located this morning, 05/18/09 by Jose Rodriguez, brother of Eusebio. Rodriguez and family had been in regular communication with the Baytown Police Department and were updated as to the locations where Eusebio was seen by witnesses. Jose Rodriguez traveled to 6617 Almeda Genoa, the location of a Texaco gas station where Eusebio was last seen on 5/17/09. Jose’s effort paid off when he located Eusebio there. Eusebio had been staying at a salvage yard in the 5900 block of Allison St. in Houston. Eusebio had met a man at the Texaco gas station who allowed him to stay in an unoccupied trailer at his salvage yard in return for Eusebio watching over the property at night. Other than sunburn, Eusebio was in good condition.

Since Eusebio was reported missing on 5/13/09, we received several reports of a Hispanic male fitting Euesbio’s description at locations in Pasadena, Spring and two locations in Houston.

After receiving specific information that Eusebio had asked a witness where the nearest airport was, Baytown Detectives began investigating the possibility that Eusebio had obtained a plane ticket to return to his home in Mexico. We were in the process of speaking with officials at Intercontinental Airport when we were notified that he had been located by his family.

* Quote from Lt. Eric Freed, Baytown Police spokesperson: “We were following up on the Kuykendahl sighting - anticipating Mr. Rodriguez to arrange for air travel to fly back home to Mexico. While our Detectives were on the phone with the airport, Eusebio’s family traveled to the Texaco and found him. They were clearly a step ahead of us. The Rodriguez family did an outstanding job and I applaud their efforts.”
