Deceptive Business Practices

On Friday, July 23, 2009 Detectives with the Baytown Police Department Fraud Division filed charges of Deceptive Business Practices against Leonicio Lopez of Katy, Texas following an investigation into allegations that Lopez was fraudulently collecting donations on behalf of The 100 Club which is an organization designed to assist the dependents of police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.

Baytown Health and EMS dept aquires additional equipment to treat sudden cardiac arrest

In an effort to increase our community’s odds of surviving sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), the City of Baytown has bought additional automated external defibrillators to place in city owned buildings. AED’s are used by first responders, such as police officers and firefighters, to treat victims of SCA.

2007 Annual Baytown Arts & Crafts Show, Nov 9-10

The City of Baytown, Parks & Recreation will be accepting craft booth applications for the 2007 Annual Baytown Arts & Crafts Show, to be held at the Baytown Community Center, located at 2407 Market Street in Baytown, on Friday, November 9th from 12 noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 10th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Chevron Phillips Chemical Cedar Bayou Plant to host annual Mass Casualty “Medex” drill

The Chevron Phillips Chemical Cedar Bayou Plant located off Interstate 10 in Baytown will be hosting the annual Mass Casualty “Medex” drill on Tuesday morning October 23rd in a joint effort with the facility, San Jacinto Hospital, and City of Baytown Office of Emergency Management.

City May Disconnect Water at Lakeview Apartments Due to Non-Payment of Utility Bills

The City may be forced to turn off the water to the Lakeview Apartments, 1200 Northwood, on September 25, due to non-payment of its utility bills. Currently, the Lakeview Apartments owes the City $61,902.53 in past due utility bills.

Harris County, Harris County Precinct 2, and the City of Baytown will be co-sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day to give residents an opportunity to clean out their garages and help out the environment at the same time.
City Prepares for Tropical Storm Humberto

The National Hurricane Center has indicated that Tropical Storm Humberto is just off the Texas coast and will make landfall as a tropical storm sometime this evening around 10 p.m. and midnight between Freeport and Galveston.
