Early Voting to Begin Monday

April 23, 2009

City of Baytown residents can head to the polls as early as Monday. Early voting, by personal appearance, will take place from April 27 – May 5 at three locations: the main early voting location: Baytown City Hall, 2401 Market Street; and at branch locations: Goose Creek Administration Building, 4544 I-10, and Cedar Bayou Community Building, 7711 Highway 146.

Early voting office hours for all locations are as follows:

Monday, April 27 - Friday, May 1:  8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Saturday, May 2:  7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Sunday, May 3:  1 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Monday, May 4 – Tuesday, May 5:  7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Two items will appear on the ballot for the municipal election, which will be held on May 9; residents will cast their vote to determine Baytown’s Mayor, and will also decide on a proposed ordinance that exempts certain stand-alone bars from the requirements of the Smoking Ordinance.
