The Baytown City Council will recognize the City’s Employee and Team of the Month at the April 23 City Council Meeting, at 6:30 p.m. Richard Valdez will be honored as the Employee of the Month, while the City’s Utility Billing Customer Service Representatives will be recognized as the Team of the Month.
Valdez , a Pollution Control Technician in the City’s Public Works Department, was chosen for excelling in the City’s core values of Competence and Customer Service. According to the nomination application submitted for Mr. Valdez, “He has continually ensured that the water discharged back into our City system is clean, and he has gone above and beyond in establishing an outstanding rapport with business owners and citizens.”
“Team of the Month” honors go to Yvonne Lopez, Billing Coordinator and Customer Service Representatives Rachel Dyer, Linda Ellison and Theresa Maldonado. They were chosen for their competence and team work, after being tasked with the review and audit of each and every customer account, a massive and cumbersome project well outside the scope of their regular duties.
“Each of these employees has demonstrated the work ethic and attitudes that support our Core Values,” said City Manager Garry Brumback. “They are wonderful examples of the professional staff that our City employs.”
