As part of the City’s annual capital improvements program, portions of Garth Road are scheduled to be repaired beginning February 11th with completion of the project on February 25th. The repair project includes the removal and replacement of concrete road panels and the restoration of the correct elevation of these panels.
The City Council authorized an annual concrete repair contract with Teamwork Construction to complete the type of work involved with this project. The Public Works Street Division will direct the repairs.
The roadway repairs will be made to Garth Road in the southbound inner and outer lanes of the 3400 block (south of Rollingbrook) and the northbound inner and outer lanes of the 4000 block (north of Birdsong). Work is expected to begin February 11th at 7:00 a.m. and will continue through February 25th when it will re-open to through traffic.
We urge all citizens to focus on safety in construction zones, observe posted speed limits, and observe construction zone signage. To avoid congestion and possible delays, motorists should consider using North Main as an alternate route. The City’s contractor will provide traffic safety markers and signage along the construction route to safely guide drivers around the construction area.
