Homebuyers’ Education Workshop to be Held on May 3, 2008

The City of Baytown Planning & Development Services Department issponsoring free Homebuyer Education Workshops. The workshops will be presented inEnglish and Spanish for everyone interested in attending. Topics covered include household budgeting, mortgage lending, loan closing, home maintenance, and ownership responsibilities and benefits. Workshop attendees receive an extensive Fannie Mae workbook, a Certificate of Completion and a better understanding of the home buying process. The Homebuyer Education Workshops will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. atthe Baytown Community Center, 2407 Market Street. Advance registration is requestedby calling 281-420-5390.
The City of Baytown may also provide financial assistance to qualified individuals for purchasing a home within the city limits. The Homebuyers’ Assistance Program grants amaximum of $4,500 for closing costs to purchase a single-family existing home priced at$105,000 or below. Homebuyers must meet some qualifications including being income-eligibleand able to obtain mortgage financing with a lender.
