Baytown PD actively investigating homicide

May 6, 2008

On Sunday, April 28th, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Baytown Communications received a 911 call from a homeowner in the 300 block of W. Republic in Baytown, Texas. The caller reported hearing shots fired in the area before an apparent shooting victim knocked upon the caller’s door in an attempt to get help. Responding Police Officers located an unoccupied, silver Volkswagen Jetta parked in the street with the driver and passenger side doors open. Officers observed a blood trail from the Jetta to the porch area of the caller’s nearby home. The victim was located on the caller’s porch, unresponsive.

Baytown Police Officers secured the area prior to Paramedics entering and attempting to provide life saving care to no avail. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified as INFANTE, RAFAEL 09/21/1974 W/M, a Baytown resident and electronics installer.

Baytown Police Detectives are actively investigating this homicide.
