The City of Baytown’s Office of Emergency Management will host a free hurricane preparedness workshop on Saturday, May 16, from 10 am – 2 pm, at the Baytown Community Center (2407 Market Street).
The workshop will offer seminars by the National Weather Service, Baytown Animal Services and the National Flood Insurance Program, as well as a session on personal hurricane preparedness. Vendors from local businesses and home improvement stores will distribute free samples and information on preparing your family, property and pets in the event of a hurricane.
This free workshop offers something for everyone. Baytown Police will be on hand to distribute and assist with child identification kits, and offer crime prevention tips, refreshments and door prizes; including an MP3 player, a fire/water-proof safe, and gift cards, have been generously donated by area businesses.
The City of Baytown would like to remind citizens that hurricane season is less than a month away, and now is the time to prepare our homes and families.
