The City of Baytown Parks & Recreation Department announced today that Roseland Spray Park will reopen for its summer season on Saturday, March 13, at 10 a.m. This is the eighth season for the popular attraction, located at 100 Roseland Drive.
The Spray Park, a Municipal Development District funded project, will be open to the public daily from March 13 through Sunday, November 7. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon until 8 p.m. on Sundays. Admission to the park is free.
Other supporting facilities include two picnic shelters, a vending depot, public restrooms, and near-by parking. There is plenty of open grass area for sunbathing as well. A 45-foot long bench arbor provides parents and friends with a comfortable, shaded place to watch their children enjoy and play in the Spray Park.
Roseland Spray Park is the first facility to be implemented under the City’s comprehensive aquatics plan. Pirates Bay, a Caribbean themed 3-acre water park, complete with lazy river, Flowrider surfing machine, and an impressive array of water slides, spray nozzles and activities, is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend. A third facility, which will encompass features from both spray park and water park is under design and will be located at the site of the former N.C. Foote Pool. N.C. Foote Aquatics Center is scheduled to open in 2011.
