A public meeting to discuss the development of a Storm Water Master Plan for the City of Baytown will be held on Wednesday, November 4, at 6:30 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers (2401 Market Street). The purpose of the meeting is to provide background information, explain the intent of the Storm Water Master Plan, and to receive public input.
The engineering firm of Klotz Associates, Inc. has been hired to complete a preliminary engineering study which will identify historic flood locations in the City and its extraterritorial jurisdictions, or “ETJ”. Klotz will recommend improvements to the existing storm water system as well as make suggestions for regional detention facilities based on current and future developments in and around the City of Baytown.
Project findings will be summarized in a written report describing repeated problem flood areas, potential measures to prevent future flooding, and localize regional detention areas to reduce the number of individual storm water detention basins. This information will be utilized to develop a long-term capital improvement plan to prioritize, finance and implement needed improvements.
The public is invited to attend, and written and oral comments will be accepted.
