The City of Baytown and its contractor, Teamwork Construction, will be conducting a street repair project in the 2900 block of West Baker Road. The project will begin on Monday, June 16 and is expected to continue through Friday, June 20. Repairs will affect the westbound lanes, with a single lane being closed to traffic while the other is being repaired. Property owners in the construction area will have access to their property. Although a portion of the 2900 block of West Baker will be open at all times, the Public Works Department suggests that individuals driving in the area use alternate routes in order to minimize congestion. Westbound traffic is encouraged to use Emmett Hutto Boulevard or Bush Road.
City officials urge all motorists to focus on safety in construction zones, observe posted speed limits, and obey construction zone signage. The City appreciates the patience of persons traveling in the construction area as we continue to make improvements to our community.
