The City of Baytown will hold a public meeting to discuss proposed improved windstorm resistance standards for new construction. The meeting will be held Friday, May 15, at 1 p.m., at the Baytown Community Center, Tejas Room, 2407 Market St.
The City’s current design standard for wind resistance is 115 mph at 3-second gusts for new or expanded portions of buildings. The improved windstorm resistance standard is proposed to raise the requirement to 130 mph at 3-second gusts for new or expanded portions of buildings.
