Santa Claus is coming to town and the Baytown Parks and Recreation Department wants your group, church, or organization to join them in the City’s annual Christmas Parade. Entries for the December 4 “Under the Christmas Tree,” themed parade are now being accepted. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. and kicks off Christmas on Texas Avenue festivities.
Over 250 parade entries are anticipated for this year’s parade, including lighted floats, decorated vehicles, fire trucks, marching groups, school bands, and the grand finale – the arrival of Santa Claus as he officially kicks off the holiday season by arriving in downtown Baytown atop an historic Baytown fire engine. Awards will be given in over 20 different categories, including “Best Themed Float,” “Most Original,” “Most Enthusiastic,” and “Most Entertaining.”
