Applications being accepted for '07-'08 Youth Advisory Commission
September 19, 2007
Baytown City Council established the Youth Advisory Commission (YAC) in March of 2005 to foster involvement of the youth in City government, encourage leadership through volunteerism and community involvement, identify issues and concerns of the youth, look for ways to promote mutual understanding and respect among youth groups of all cultures/backgrounds and assist in implementing and planning youth activities in the community.
The YAC is for youth ages 14 – 18 who are interested in representing the youth population of Baytown. Members must be enrolled in a public school, a private school or a parochial school, including a home school, within the boundaries of the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District and maintain good standing at the school in which they are enrolled.
The City of Baytown is currently seeking applicants for the 2007-2008 Youth Advisory Commission. If you are interested please submit your application online, by fax (281) 420-5891 or at City Hall, 2401 Market Street. Once the applications are received, the members will be selected and recommended to City Council for their confirmation and approval.
