Operations

The Operations Division is headed by Assistant Chief Victor Medrano. The responsibility of the Operations Division is to utilize the Department's human resources to deliver a wide variety of emergency and non-emergency services. Emergency services include fire suppression, basic life support medical first responder, specialized rescue operations as well as response to weather-related emergencies. Baytown Fire also provides Regional Hazardous Materials Response, which was funded by a Homeland Security Grant. Primary non-emergency services include fire prevention inspections, public fire safety education programs, installation/testing of smoke detectors and fire hydrant testing/maintenance and support of numerous community events.

Our customers expect us to deliver these services 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year, under any and all conditions. They expect us to respond with an adequate number of personnel who are trained and equipped to handle the situation, provide quality service, and do it efficiently. The majority of our department's personnel (78 of 90) are assigned to Operations for this reason. All of our personnel, however, participate in all facets of our services to the community, either emergency or non-emergency.
