Baytown Citizen's Police Academy is a unique leading experience conducted by the Police Department and designed to give citizens a better understanding of the operation and mission of their local Baytown Police Department.
Each week a different police related topic is covered, such as crime scene investigation, terrorism, traffic stops, DWI investigation, and hostage negotiations.
Participation in the academy is open to persons at least 18 years of age, who either live or work in the City of Baytown. Applications are screened for criminal history and driving records to assure the integrity of the class.
The course costs $25 per person. The only other cost involved is the price of the graduation banquet meal, which concludes the academy. Attendance at the banquet is not mandatory.
Classes meet every Tuesday evening from 6:30 - 9:30 for 10 weeks.
