A. J. Matthews Golf Tournament

The 20th annual A.J. Matthews Memoiral Golf Tournament is scheduled  for Friday, May 01, 2009.
The tournament begins with shotgun start at 12:30 pm.  There is a $75.00 fee for each player, which includes door prizes, green fee, lunch, and 1/2 cart. The tournament is open to the public.  For more information about signing up or sponsoring a sign, please contact us at 281-420-6661.

We are often asked who is A.J. Matthews and how did this tournament come about.  "A.J. Matthews died from wounds he received when he and 2 of his children surprised burglars in his Baytown home in 1989. He was shot, along with children, Tina and Kevin who were 16 and 13, respectively. His daughter recovered from her arm wound, and his son was shot at, but not hit." - Baytown Sun-March 7, 1999. Mr. Matthews' wife, Dianne, originally began to work with the police department to purchase a K-9. The first K-9 of the department was named A.J. "Dianne Matthews found a way to memorialize her husband's name, while helping to fund one of the foremost drug education programs for school age children."

We would like to thank the Police Association Members and countless of community supporters that make this tournament a great friends and family event.  Click here to view/print the entry form.
