On May 10, 2006, Ashbel Smith Elementary celebrated its DARE graduation. Officer Aldrich, who is a DARE instructor for the Baytown Police Department, conducted the ceremony. This years D.A.R.E. Essay winners were: back row from left to right; Officer Larry Aldrich – instructor, Amanda De La Cruz, Aliyah Cedeno, Jalen Roan – overall school winner. Front Row: Roland Blanco, Martha Gomez, and Biridiana Rodriguez.
