Chief's Message

On behalf of the entire Baytown Police Department I would like to welcome you to our website. We are very proud of all of our personnel and the services that we provide our community. I hope you will find the information provided on this site helpful.

Our department is unique from many police departments in that we really encourage employee communication to occur. We feel that it is essential that our employees understand instructions and directives and are comfortable asking questions about any directive. I feel that if we don’t allow ideas to be challenged, bad ideas will go unchallenged and good ideas often never get heard. I encourage the dedicated men and women of our department to be creative and use their ideas to reduce crime. As a result, we have seen a reduction in crime and an improved quality of life in our community. I encourage our personnel to be active and involved in our community. This gives us a feeling of pride and ownership. We accomplish this through our officers and personnel being involved with civic groups, churches, sports, schools and community projects. We have a very active citizen police academy alumni association, crime stoppers board, community service bureau and training academy. These groups assist us with staying in touch with the ever changing needs of our community.

Our police department is currently comprised of 147 sworn officers and 52 support personnel. The department is divided into three Bureaus, each of which is under the command of a Bureau Captain. Although each Bureau is independent of the other, it is paramount that we all work together.

If you should have any questions that are not answered on our website, please feel free to contact us.
