The Baytown Fire Department is a career fire department with 108 uniformed paid firefighters. An annual written civil service examination is given to establish an eligibility list of candidates for employment. A candidate must pass the written examination to be considered for employment. Applications are accepted from individuals with and without fire and EMT certifications. Applicants certified as EMT-P or hold a college degree are encouraged to apply.
The application period will open on Monday, March 19, 2012 and will close on Friday, April 20, 2012. The entrance examination will be administered on Friday, May 25, 2012. The certified list will be active for one year or until exhausted.
