The project includes the construction of a new pavilion at Roseland Park. The pavilion will include a catering kitchen, indoor and outdoor seating areas, and restrooms. The new building will provide barrier free access and will be relocated to the west side of the park.
The original pavilion, built in the 1960s, had been flooded 3 times, and was under water for a week after Hurricane Harvey. It was also located too close to Cedar Bayou. This building provided a key quality of life for city residents, hosting birthday parties and reunions. The facility was frequently rented, and has the capability once again to be a good source of revenue for the City of Baytown.
