NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS AT NEXT NATURE CENTER PROGRAM
Want to learn how to ‘shoot’ those birds you love? Or capture the breathtaking beauty of a coastal sunrise? Or maybe you’re more into details with a close-up shot of a native plant that intrigues you. Join photographer David LeMaster at 10 am on Saturday, November 4 at the monthly Nurture Nature Series as he shares pointers on wildlife photography and goes a step further as he demonstrates. This is a hands-on session with the opportunity to take photographs. It is recommended that each participant bring a personal camera, but it is not required.
In addition to being a photographer, LeMaster is also a novelist playwright, drama director and sometimes poet. He has taught English, Theatre, and the Humanities at San Jacinto Central for twenty years, and speech at Centenary College of Louisiana prior to that. His love of photography became serious about eight years ago and since that time his focus has mainly been discovering ways to use the craft as a means to physical, mental, and emotional therapy. He is eager to share some of the things he has learned using photography in this unique manner. Following the discussion participants will have the opportunity to use these tips at the nature center. Come enjoy David’s presentation, practice some photography and spend the afternoon at the nature center.
Nurture Nature Series is a monthly, family oriented program designed to provide the knowledge and tools to understand and enjoy the natural wonders of our environment. The programs are free with general admission to the Baytown Nature Center: $4 for adults and children 13 and older; $1 for Children 5-12 and Seniors 65+. Annual passes for individuals and family are available for $30 and $65 respectively.
