In accordance with the Stay Home, Work Safe order issued by Harris County, the City of Baytown has closed all City facilities to the public until April 30th . Following CDC guidelines, we have canceled all City events, programming, and City venue rentals until further notice.  Some  City services will continue to run, but in a modified format through digital or other distance means. We would like you to know that the City is in daily contact with State and County Health and Emergency Management Officials. We continue to address the situation in cooperation with all of our partners in government and industry. Credit Access Business

Credit Access Business

The Baytown City Council passed the Credit Access Business Ordinance in 2014, as a way to reduce abusive and predatory lending practices.  Credit access businesses or CABs provide payday and auto title loans to consumers.  CABs that operate within the city limits of Baytown must be registered with the City of Baytown, and unless already grandfathered (CAB was operational prior to June 1, 2014) must be located at least 5,000 feet away from any other lot containing a CAB.  For a complete list of existing CABs in the city limits of Baytown, please click here.

The Baytown City Clerk's Office administers the Credit Access Business Ordinance.  This CAB website includes City regulations, business registration information and consumer complaint forms; for more information regarding any of these items, please contact the City Clerk's Office at 281-420-6504.
