You can create a profile in our system that will stay on file and be used to apply for multiple open positions. You will need to apply to each position, but your profile will contain your information making that process very quick and easy.
As new opportunities become available, we may search the pool of profiles in our system and reach out to candidates who might be a good fit.
How do I submit an application?
Applications are accepted for currently open positions, which can be viewed on our Job Opportunities page. View our current openings and click on job titles of interest. From there you will see a summary of the position (including duties and requirements), an overview of employment benefits, and the job specific questions that must be answered as part of the application process. If you feel that job is a good fit for you, click the Apply button to start the application process.
From there you can create a profile or sign in to an existing one. If you have your resume stored on your computer or a flash drive, you can upload it to the system. You will complete your application and answer job specific questions for each posting. You will receive a confirmation email for each submitted application.
You will also be able to sign in to your profile and check the status of all of your submissions.
How long does the hiring process take?
The time line varies for each position. Typically positions are filled within 60-90 days of posting, but there are many variables that can affect that schedule. You can log in to the system at any time and check the status on all of your applications.
What if I don't see an opening I am interested in?
We recommend you complete a Job Interest Card. This will allow you to select job categories that interest you and provide us your contact information. When we post jobs in your selected categories in the future, the system will notify you. You will still need to log in and submit an application if you are interested in the position. Job Interest Cards remain on file for as long as you'd like them to be active.
Where can I find job postings?
The Current Job Openings page lists all of our current active postings. This page is updated each time we have a new opportunity to join the City of Baytown team. From this page you can review a description of the job and the requirements. You can also begin the process of submitting your application.
