COVID 19, or the Coronavirus

In accordance with the Stay Home, Work Safe order issued by Harris County, the City of Baytown has closed all City facilities to the public until April 30th . Following CDC guidelines, we have canceled all City events, programming, and City venue rentals until further notice.  Some  City services will continue to run, but in a modified format through digital or other distance means. We would like you to know that the City is in daily contact with State and County Health and Emergency Management Officials. We continue to address the situation in cooperation with all of our partners in government and industry. While you’re likely to see various reactions to the situation, we ask that you remain calm.  We will continue to keep you updated here and via our social media channels

2020 Spring Break Camp 3 MEALS 

SPRING BREAK CAMP- 3 MEALS: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Tuesday, March 10th- Thursday, March 12th

Times: 10am -1pm

Ages 7-16

Description: This 3 day camp is a perfect way to give your child a great start in the kitchen or to hone skills already learned!  Chef Win will show your child how to prepare and serve a wide variety of deliciously prepared and attractively presented foods! In addition students learn kitchen safety and sanitation in line with industry standards, plus a variety of recipes and cooking techniques. 

Breakfast: scrambled eggs, oven pancakes, crepes, oven bacon, fresh fruit salad

Lunch: Patty melts, home fries, and milkshakes

Dinner: Pan seared chicken breast with shallot butter sauce, creamy mashed potatoes, sautéed green beans, chocolate chip cookies

All classes are taught by ServSafe®certified Chef Win Thomas of Cooking with Class.

Spring Break Camp: Sizzling Science

Description: Let’s explore the 3 main branches of science - biology, chemistry, and physics! We will engage in animal encounters, perform fun chemical reactions, and explore the laws of motion with fun experiments, many of which our scientists can take home!

KARATE

The America Society of Karate in sponsored by City of Baytown Parks and Recreation is now registering for the spring Karate classes. This year round Beginner to Black Belt program will teach techniques in the art, sport, self-defense and kidnapping awareness aspects to increase your self-confidence. Karate 2020

MESSY MITTS

Come to the Baytown Community Center for a fun-filled morning of hands-on entertainment! Messy Mitts is a fun, interactive program in which you and your child can experience finger painting with pudding, dirt digging, water play, and more. Spend the morning visiting with other parents while instructor Tiffany Gill of STEM Explorers LLC. guides your child through a fun, messy morning (without the hassle of clean up!)  Ages 2-4

February 4 – April 28

 SUPER SHEROE SCAVENGER HUNT

Join us on Saturday, May 9th  for a super fun scavenger hunt around Baytown, designed just for moms and sons!

Teams of mother figures and their sons will check in at the Baytown Community Center at 10:00 am before setting out on their journey. From there, each team of 2-5 will follow the clues, have fun completing challenges, and capture memories to last a lifetime through a fun photo scavenger hunt. When the hunt is over, teams will return to the Community Center for lunch and games.

Prizes will be awarded for the teams that complete the challenges and return to the Community Center in the least amount of time. Extra points can be earned by dressing as super heroes, etc., so show us what you've got!

Each team is required to have one vehicle and at least one smart phone to take photos. Mothers and sons of all ages are welcome to attend!

Registration is open until May 1, 2020 and is $30.00 per team.
