COVID 19, or the Coronavirus

The City of Baytown facilities and offices are open for business. Due to COVID-19 some departments may still be operating in a modified fashion. Please contact the department you plan to conduct business with directly if you have specific questions as to modification to services or location.

We continue to follow CDC guidelines for the safety of our employees and citizens and will keep you updated via social media and other communication channels

To facilitate and expedite inspections, the following apply with regard to inspection requests:

  • Inspections are conducted Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Inspections received before 7:00 a.m. will be performed the same business day unless otherwise requested.
  • The city recognizes the need for emergency reconnects such as gas and electrical. To request this type of inspection or to speak to the Permits Technician, call 281-420-6537.
  • The city recognized the need for after hour inspections. To request this type of inspection you must speak to a Permit Technician at 281-420-6537.    
  • Inspection results are available after 3:00 p.m. to the public and staff. 
  • The results can be viewed online using the E-Gov system. Instructions are available if needed.
