Study Guide – The Patrol Officer entrance examination is designed to be taken where no prior police training or experience is assumed of candidates. The Entry-Level Police Officer Candidate Study Guide (2nd Edition) is designed to help candidates prepare to take any IPMA-HR entry-level, multiple-choice police officer test. The Study Guide helps candidates understand what each test assesses and the content and types of questions found on each test. It also provides test-taking tips, a 100-item practice test, and explains the answers to 25 of the practice items. Purchase of this study guide is optional and not required in order to take the entrance examination. This study guide is available exclusively from IPMA-HR. Written Examination The entrance exams will be given on Friday, August 10, 2018.  The Police entrance examination will probably be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Baytown Community Center (2407 Market St., Baytown, TX 77520). Applicants passing the written exam will be scheduled to take the physical agility test which usually occurs after the written exam. Applicants should plan accordingly.
