Sealed Bids

Large dollar goods and services are procured by the sealed bid process. Sealed bids are e-mailed to vendors, and must be returned in a sealed envelope according to the dates and times in the "Notice to Bidders". The bids are opened at the time, date, and location specified on the bid and read at this time. Bid tabulations are usually available within 48 hours after the bid opening on our website.

It is the vendor's sole responsibility to ensure bids are received on time at the designated site. Any bid received after the date and time specified will not be considered. If you prefer not to place a bid, please return the bid marked "No Bid".

Requests for Proposals

Requests for proposals (RFPs) are due at a specified time, however the results are not available to the public until after the award of the proposal.

Once tabulated, bids are reviewed by Purchasing for bid evaluation and recommendation. City Council then approves the bid award to the responsive bidder submitting the best value to the City of Baytown meeting our specifications. Successful bidders will be notified by letter or a purchase order number.
