Sex Offender Registry
Know if an Offender Lives in Your Area
Citizens may search for registered sex offenders using the Offender Watch Network or the Texas Department of Public Safety Sex Offender site. These websites helps locate registered offenders in our jurisdiction and throughout the State of Texas. The Offender Watch Network offers an App for parents in the community to monitor their children’s phones that looks at data and matches it up to their comprehensive sex offender database.
You may search by name, address, county, school, and zip code. A successful search could provide an address, a current color photo, and offense information of the offender. If you feel there is an error on a sex offender registration record, please report this to the Baytown Police Department.
Who Must Register?
Any person with a reportable conviction occurring on or after September 1, 1970, shall have a duty to register. A person convicted for a non-Texas offense that contains elements substantially similar to an offense that requires registration in Texas shall have a duty to register. Offenders are required to register with local law enforcement in the jurisdiction where they live. Offenders living in Baytown are required to register and periodically verify the accuracy of their registration information and to promptly report any change in the information to the Baytown Police Department.
Information provided to the Baytown Police Department is electronically uploaded to the Texas Department of Public Safety. An Offender who fails to comply with any registration requirement is subject to felony prosecution.
Please refer to Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62, Sex Offender Registration for complete registration requirements.
Please refer to the City of Baytown’s Code of Ordinance, Chapter 66, Article V. for Restrictions for Sex Offenders.
