Art Alley Installations
Art Alley on W. Texas Avenue, formerly umbrella alley, will be receiving new vibrancy and color thanks to a concerted effort by Community Engagement along with Parks and Recreation. Artists Shelbi Nicole, Tyler Kay, and Whitney Hayden will be sharing their talents through both visual and interactive art. An official reveal and community party will be held Sunday, May 7th from 4-6 pm with tacos, popsicles, music, and more at 124 W. Texas Avenue. What: The Parks Department will be assisting with preparing and priming the walls, making way for new murals and artwork as well as installing interactive pieces. Why: Following the loss of Umbrella Alley in Baytown due to structural challenges and upkeep requirements, a new opportunity for community art was created. City leaders and citizens have worked together on this project to expand and improve the Arts, Culture, and Entertainment District. Baytown Gateway Project
This project is a new Gateway sign that will be located at the 146 and I-10 Corridor. The Parks Department managed the design and the construction is being managed by TXDOT.

Baytown Mini Golf
An 18-hole mini golf course which can be assembled and disassembled at different locations will soon be used for Baytown events and entertainment.

Busch Terrace Park
The Busch Terrace improvement project will serve to revitalize one of Baytown’s hidden park spaces. Busch Terrace Park is receiving several new additions.

City Landscaping Improvements
Parks and Recreation teams work hard to keep Baytown beautiful and that includes city landscaping and median improvements. WHY This winter, unprecedented freezes killed many plants and damaged irrigation systems in multiple locations leaving garden beds looking less than ideal. WHAT After individual assessments of every bed, a plan was developed to address various maintenance issues through both internal and external staffing. Work then began on redesigning and replanting median beds on Alexander Dr, Baker Rd, Emmett Hutto Blvd, and San Jacinto Blvd. New plantings were also completed at the Baytown Nature Center's Butterfly Garden. With these improvements, we have realigned with our goal to keep Baytown beautiful.

Nature Center Entrance Landscaping
This project will involve to removal of dead vegetation from around the Baytown Nature Center’s Entrance to be replaced with new plant life and the installation of a small path to the rock waterfall.

Nature Center Kayak Launch
Crystal Bay at the Baytown Nature Center is an incredible destination for kayaking and paddle boarding. The view of the San Jacinto monument over the water is hard to beat. This project will make it more accessible for the public to launch kayaks from the Baytown Nature Center.

Pickleball Courts at N.C. Foote Park
New outdoor pickleball courts are coming to N.C. Foote Park in Baytown. Just across from the Baytown Community Center, construction has begun on a new outdoor pickleball facility for public use.
