The Uniform Services Bureau provides frontline law enforcement services and proactive policing throughout the community. Personnel assigned to this bureau are responsible for responding to calls for service, enforcing traffic laws, preventing crime, and ensuring public safety through visible patrol and specialized enforcement efforts.
The bureau includes the Patrol Division, which serves as the primary response unit for emergency and non-emergency calls for service, and the Traffic Management Unit, which focuses on traffic enforcement, roadway safety, and crash investigations. The Traffic Management Unit includes the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit and the Traffic Reconstruction Team, which investigates serious traffic crashes.
Additional units within the bureau include the K-9 Unit, which supports patrol and investigative operations, and the Crime Prevention Unit, which works with the community to promote safety awareness and crime reduction strategies.
The bureau also oversees several Ancillary Units (Special Teams) that provide specialized capabilities to the department. These teams include the Dive Team, Bomb Squad, Honor Guard, Mounted Unit, SWAT, Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT), Mental Health Unit, and the Drone Unit. These teams are activated to assist with specialized incidents and operations when needed.
