The Texas Comptroller's office launched the Transparency Stars program in 2016 to recognize cities that demonstrate a strong commitment to government openness by providing residents with easy online access to key financial data.
The City of Baytown has earned 4 out of 6 stars for transparency in Traditional Finances, Open Government & Compliance, Debt Obligations, and Public Pensions. The City continues to expand its efforts to share meaningful information with the public. Additional areas of focus will include contracts and procurement and economic development. These efforts reflect the City’s ongoing commitment to accountability, fiscal responsibility, and open communication with the community.
