Tyke Hike is a hands-on nature-based preschool program offered in the spring and fall. Tyke Hike lessons are geared towards our smallest naturalists aged 3-5. Tykes learn about a different nature topic each week, complete with a fun story and hands-on activities.
Enjoy a nighttime walk through nature's handiwork. Take advantage of this opportunity to visit the nocturnal habitats that are home to owls, raccoons, opossums, and other wildlife that emerge after dark. Full Moon Hike is free with paid admission to the park.
Learn about this natural space as a Staff Naturalist points out signs of a plant and animal activity. One hour hikes are approximately one mile with a short rest stop to look for wildlife and can be scheduled Monday through Saturday. Two hour hikes begin with a bit of hiking safety and history of the Baytown Nature Center, followed by a one mile hike with a rest stop to look for wildlife.
