Project Overview

The Market Street Corridor Project is a comprehensive roadway improvement initiative covering Market Street from Bayway Drive to W. Sterling Avenue. The project includes the complete reconstruction of the roadway, featuring a concrete median, curbs, sidewalks, and landscaped areas to enhance pedestrian mobility and aesthetics.

Purpose of the Project:

This project is essential to support increased mobility in Harris County, prepare for anticipated population growth, and improve safety for all road users, including motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The project is currently in the design phase. Once designs are finalized, further updates on the construction timeline will be provided.

The estimated total project cost is $19,252,000, funded jointly by Harris County and the City of Baytown.
