Baytown residents have consistently asked for more amenities around town, and a golf course was one of the highest-rated requests during the City’s recent community survey. The Economic Development Team and other city officials have been seeking developers of these amenities that would enhance the Hyatt Regency and Convention Center area.
Members of Build Baytown I expressed interest with a conceptual plan in November 2021.

KM Realty is building out an approximate 140-acre mixed-use retail and residential project on State Highway 146 and Interstate 10. The site will be anchored by a grocery retailer and upscale multi-family development complete with numerous retail and restaurants.
Infrastructure work began in October 2021 and will be complete by end of summer 2022.
The Hyatt Regency Baytown - Houston and Convention Center is a representation of the area’s tremendous industrial and business growth. Beyond the anticipated business demand for lodging and meeting space, citizens of Baytown prioritized the development of this facility in a 2016 community-based strategic plan.
The upscale, full-service property will feature 208 guestrooms and suites, a three-meal restaurant, outdoor pool, fitness center, business center, and nearly 18,000 square feet of conference and meeting space.
The hotel and convention center sits at the foot of the iconic Fred Hartman Bridge and provides the ultimate gateway entrance into our city. Baytown residents will not be footing the bill through property taxes, as the vast majority has already been paid for by private investors.
Completion of construction is expected in the spring of 2023.
A new single-family residential development is being constructed at Palm Royal Drive along Highway 146. This is approximately 50 housing units.
Development was rezoned in 2017. Platting began in 2018.
At the 3000 block of Massey Tompkins Road. This single-family housing development will have approximately 45 units.
Property was zoned SF2 (residential) in 2012. Platting began in 2021.
At 6199 Decker Drive, this gas station and convenience store will have a small restaurant tenant.
Zoned General Commercial in 2012. Platting began in 2017.
The South Road Apartments will have approximately 240 units.
Rezoned and platted in 2014. Replatted in 2016.
